Weekend Blahs

Not much planned for this weekend - the bf is going out of town for 2 weeks on Monday and I start working at the gym next week and subbing the week after that. At least I'll make some money for....NYC in 3 weeks! (Or really, to pay off my credit card bill before NYC).

Ended up going to Pizzeria Bianco - The Oprah and CNN proclaimed "Best pizza in America" that real Phoenicians tend to steer clear of considering that the two other times I tried to go in the last 5 years, they already had a 3 hour wait at 5pm when they opened. But my dad's invitation to sit at the bar and fund the trip proved enticing and I downed 3 glasses of wine in the 100 degree heat over 2.5 hours. However, when I finally got my pizza, I was thoroughly disappointed (though slightly drunk so I didn't make a fuss). While the mozzarella was like butter and I could have been happy drinking that marinara out of cup, my whole crust was burnt black. Brother and boyfriend kept insisting that it was supposed to look like that due to the brick oven - however, their's looked peculiarly un-burnt. And tasted un-burnt (compared to mine, that on the ends, tasted like a campfire). Totally worth the sweltering wait - thanks Bianco. Never again.

Besides the 800 errands I'm running today (I become my mom's bitch when I'm home to make up for EVERYTHING she still does for me), I'm planning on bleaching an old Michael Stars cotton dress and shredding a pair of long-unworn J Brands. Sometimes I think I'm arty.

Going to dinner with my dad tonight, trying to decide where (I hit up Pita Jungle last night - 2 nights in a row seems excessive....)

For Scottsdale folk, Valentino: The Last Emperor is starting at Shea 14 on Friday. So not annoying to me considering all the time and effort I spent trying to see it in LA. Oh well.....

Sorry I went MIA this weekend back to LA, but I have 2 new outfits to show for it. Finally saw the Valentino movie (girl in Explorer giving me a strong love tap ruined those plans last time) and it was beautifulllll. Even the boyf thought it was fantastic. Mucho recommended! I still want to see Food Inc, 500 Days of Summer, and of course, the Anna Wintour movie in Septembre (en francais, s'il vous plait). Beach, farmer's market, dinners, yoga, and house cleaning. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh.

Going Back to Cali....

Decided to go back to LA this weekend to get my mail, get some clothes, etc. because I still have the rental car and that way I won't be putting the miles on my own car.... Smart thinking right? Right. Plus, Zac's coming, which will make the drive much less boring, although he may not approve of my listening material in the car - heavy on the Shopaholic genre.

Doing a little work today; going to Crossfit tonight. And my arm is feeling much better, thank you very much! Had a delish Dr.Praeger's veggie burger for lunch but as usual, the soy is now hurting the tummy. When will I learn?
