Had to send off a bunch of eBay stuff at the post office, so on the way back I stopped at the Promenade and perused Urban Outfitters, H & M, Forever 21, French Connection, the Kitson Outlet, and then Fred Segal, and found myself totally uninspired. I love shopping at sample sales, on eBay, on website sales, etc. Unless there is something specific at a big chain store like a designer collection or that bib necklace from Forevs I decided I needed, I hate shopping at these stores. Its totally boring and commercial. Fred Segal is great, but a lot of their merchandise that is still full price is from a season or two ago, and every other store already has it on sale.

My toilet is running and the plug for my sink has never worked properly, but my apartment changed management companies and I cannot get ahold of maintainance for the life of me. I really hope my water bill doesn't end up being $800000 this month! Gotta get some papers done today, peace out!

Kid's Choice Awards 2009

I picked out my fav outfits from the Kids Choice Awards this past weekend. I had some gripes, ie. Paula Adbul dressing like a Hot Topic model, Vanessa Hudgens being way too underdressed in jean shorts and flat boots, and Demi Lovato ruining her YSL Tribute sandals with a super-fug dress. Here are the more acceptable ones:

Miley Cyrus (with some cute wedges unseen on bottom)

Cameron Diaz

Emma Roberts

Amber Valetta

Victoria Justice

On a side note, ohhhhh nooooo Natalie Maines:

BRAVO = Genius.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey is coming out:

I die.

Lets Have Some Fun, This Beat is Sick.....

So I have been getting my hair done by Kammie at Sachi Salon in Scottsdale for years, but I'm not going home for a month and my ends were looking a little raggedy. Since Sachi runs me about $200 for a cut and highlights, I decided to pay a visit to the Toni & Guy Academy that is a couple blocks away from me. With a student ID, its only $10 for a cut. I wasn't about to trust students with my color, but I figured a trim would be fine. The girl I got was super sweet, although she took foreverrr to trim, and at the end when I said it looked a little blunt and asked for a few more layers, took a long time to do something that looked no different than before. My bangs were fine and the length was good, so I just went home and roughed the ends up with sharp scissors like I have seen Kammie do, and I'm very pleased with myself now.

Got to get some stuff done before my dad comes tomorrow, so peace out!

All Decked in Lace & Leather

So I luuuv my new bib necklace, it was a good decision. Its not as long as it looks in the picture, so I made it longer with a piece of black suede material because I like to think I'm crafty. I'm slightly freaking out right now because I'm planning to go home for two weeks in the middle of April when my semester ends, so that I can sub teach in AZ and make some money (CA requires you to have a teaching certificate to sub, so I can't here). The part I'm freaking out about is packing work and casual outfits for 2 weeks. I'm tempted to bring my whole closet. I don't know how I'm going to do this.

I have like 20 items up on ebay right now, some ending today and some ending in 3 days, so check out my screenname there - beach03me!

Oh! And FYI, the Mike & Chris going out of business alert going around the web yesterday was a mistake. LA.Racked.com claims they are NOT going out of business, their old manufacturer is. But there is still a great sample sale.

Erin Wasson x RVCA

Here are my fav pieces from the Erin Wasson x RVCA collection. I'm gonna hold off until they are on sale, because my wallet is currently hurting and my closet is sad from the selling of much of it on eBay. But all of it is super cute, the only thing I don't like is a skirt with suspenders that I didn't post. I don't think suspenders are for me.....

Time To Get Dressed

Decided to get out of my sweats and get dressed today. Two days of sloppiness is enough for me. Went to Crossfit last night and after an intense kettleball and chin-up workout, I left with the side of my right hand swollen and feeling numb. After a call to my doctor (whichever parent answers the phone), I was advised to ice and elevate it, and if I didn't regain feeling in an hour or two, go to emerg. I really didn't want to spend hours waiting in a hospital where they'd likely xray it, tell me nothing is broken and to ice it and take tylenol, so luckily it started feeling better later on. Today, its still swollen but now its hurting, not numb. Progress?

Outfit Today:

Vintage Red Plaid Shirt, Unbuttoned on top (my mom's mom made this for her in high school). I've got a little J.Simp overload going on, no more pictures of her. She just wears a lot of plaid and sweatpants. Sometimes at the same time.

Meat Market Vintage

I have some friends with a successful vintage clothing store on eBay called Meat Market Vintage. I was browsing it today, and these are some of my favs right now. I love it when I get to come over to their place and go through the scores and scores of vintage goodies. My boyf used to model their men's clothing for them, and I hear the gay British boys loved him! :)

Erin Wasson Clothing Sale!

OMG, so crazy. It started at 11am, when I got there at 10:45, there were about 15-20 people in front of me in line. As soon as they opened the doors, with Erin standing there in sweatpants, platform sandals, and a bun in her hair, girls went flying in and grabbed everything they could (as did I!). I mentioned to Erin that I was sitting by her at Fred Segal and got the blogs in a bit of a frenzy about the sale. She had some amazing vintage and designer pieces, nothing over $100, and it was all gone within 30 minutes of the store being open. I'm considering selling a couple pieces on my eBay, and I also am putting up a bunch of clothes today, so check it out! Here's the haul. FYI, my photography skills are unparalleled.

Vintage Plaid Shirt

Chie Mihara White Leather Gladiator Sandals (these looked completely new!)

Then, bf and I went to lunch at Bread & Porridge on Wilshire, and then took a visit to the La Brea Tar Pits because he likes anything that will create a mess. I also stopped at Saks and returned the T by Alexander Wang T-shirt dress I ordered. It finally came on back-order, and after I ripped it open and tried it on, I found that it so did not fit how I wanted it to. Apparently my body is different from the Saks model. Who knew, right? I did keep this one however, that I wore today:

Downtown LA Fashion Week Decades Show

Last night we attended the Downtown LA Fashion Week Decades and DecadesTwo show of gorgeous vintage couture and mucho celebs. Marissa Tomei and Nikki Hilton two feet away from us before the show, Nicole Richie rushing by us after the show in a quick getaway, and spottings of Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Lisa Rinna (both in feathers, as was my Becca), Rachel Griffiths, and Rose Mcgowen. No Erin Wasson, however I did finally found out what was going on with her clothing sale, and I plan to be there bright and early tomorrow morning at her boyfriend's store in Venice where its all going down!

Just found out that Shenae Grimes, my Canadian Degrassi Community School compadre was there last night. Sooooo disappointed I missed that! Shredded tights are my fav.
