Important Questions

The Hills brought me some questions last night, as followed:
1. Kristin has been bopping around to all the media outlets saying that the Hills is fake, she does what the producers tell her, she is a serious actress, blahblahblah. Do the producers know this? Cuz she's kind of ruining their front.
2. Does Audrina know this? Because I think she really believes that Kristin is encroaching on her man. You can't be mean to Audrina like that, even in pretend land. That's like being mean to a 5 year old.
3. Why are they acting like Lauren died/moved to Tibet/doesn't exist? I'm pretty sure she's still living in LA. In the same WeHo neighborhood as the rest of the crew.
4. Why is Kristin friends with Stacie the bartender? Was she ever really a bartender?
5. Why is Spencer wearing a cowboy hat?
6. I went to Tart last week too. Just FYI. Delish.
7. I love that Stephanie Pratt is wearing the Rebecca Minkoff bag I saw her buy at the sample sale last spring. Hehehe. And Justin Bobby just looks dirtttyyyyy. And since when does he take people on dates to fancy steakhouses?
8. If I was getting paid $90,000 per episode, I'd do whatever the producers tell me too. I realize these aren't questions anymore, so I'll just stop.

Test today! My studying motivation is at dangerously low levels for this being the first month back at school.

I Hate People Who Nod During Lecture.

Also, one of my classes is making me want to poke my eyeballs out. I don't like the teacher, the material is stuff I learned in like, 2nd year undergrad, and the amount of busy work involved is redonculous. It makes me cranky. Very, very cranky.

I think the grad school consensus on my outfits is that half the time I get compliments from people on my shoes/bag/whatever, and half the time I get people staring at me a little too long. Which discouraged me in high school but part of being an adult is ignoring that shiz right?

Painting Pots and Such

So the flea market was a bust this time - all the same stuff as last time but they really gouge you with the prices since its all LA hipsters trolling the area, so we just wandered for a while and bailed. But we did have a delish Jew-y lunch at Canter's deli (legit due to the Jewish bf), went to the beach despite the gray and foggy day, got pizza and salad for dinner and then painted a sake pitcher and cup for my dad for his birthday at Color Me Mine (yes, I'm 12 years old.) Saturday school screws with my weekends however because I already have class again tomorrow and that upsets me.....

Old outfit post that I missed during laptop-gate 09:

WORE MONDAY (to school):

Anna Sui Lace Top (old Anthropologie sale find)

Zara Black Leggings

Chinese Laundry Gray Over-Knee Boots

Saturday Grad School = FAIL.

Stuck in class from 9 to 5 today. Not sure who's bright idea this was. I will say that my teacher (who is in her 60s) is rockin the Elizabeth & James for Robert Lee Morris silver knuckle ring and a cross-body Balenciaga bag. Loves it.

Feelin' antsy to hit up my 2nd home - the Fred Segal sale - tomorrow. Went yesterday for 20 minutes and it did NOT satisfy me.....
Also going to the Fairfax Flea Market on Sunday to satisfy a craving for a large gold vintage watch and vintage belts.

WEARING:

Brandy & Melville White Tank (from Revolve sale - oversize and perfect, $20ish)

James Perse Black Ribbed Tank (underneath)

Target Black Leggings

Givenchy Black Cage Sandals (the one item I got at Fred Segal yesterday - wanted these at full price so 50% off was a can't-miss. i REALLY wanted the hot pink ones ala Taylor Jacobsen but they were a size too big and looked floppy on my feet. not gonna lie, if they're still there tomorrow i may snatch them up...)

Forever 21 Gold Panther Necklace (not pictured)

Computer-Less

So my Toshiba laptop decided to die on me Monday morning. Unfortunately, I know those friggin Best Buy geek squad members so personally because this is not the first time its happened. This is the replacement one because the last one perished. So I decided its time to get a new one.... I pondered for 2 full days between Macs and PCs because while my mom and brother both have fancy Macbook Pros, the boyf is adamently against them. In the end, I decided to give PCs one more chance when I found this pretty flowered HP with amazing reviews. BUT after ordering it, I was informed its on backorder so who knows when it will actually show up. Its fantastic since I'm not in grad school or anything and REALLY need my laptop....

If it fails me again, everyone can say I told you so.....

Emmys 09

The Emmys are a yawnfest with mostly boring gowns because, as Rachel Zoe will tell ya, they are picked to please the masses (cut to her redesigning Chanel couture). Picked my faves anyway because its better than doing homework!

Running Remorse.

Sweet Jesus. I just signed up for a 5K. Immediately terrified.

I am NOT a runner. I was a competitive gymnast for years and my short manly muscles are meant for activities like push-ups, chin-ups and burpees - hence the reason I do Crossfit, pilates, etc. I work out 5x/week and I do hit the treadmill occasionally for a variance on the Galloway method - I sprint at 9.0 or 9.5 and then walk at 3.5 or 4.0 until I get to 2 or 3 miles. I could also elliptical for hours upon end, so I know my cardio level can do it... Its just that the thought of physically running that whole time makes me want to poke myself in the eye and vomit at the same time. Call it a mental block, but combined with old gymnastics injuries like shin splints and having asthma my whole life have made the activity of running my mortal enemy.

However...

My mother runs super marathons (52 milers) and does triathlons. She is doing a beach marathon for fun with some friends (for some reason she thinks 26.2 miles is a super sweet way to spend a morning) and so I have decided to suck it up and do the accompanying 5K. Because she will have left hours before and I will be on my own - lower pressure for me? Will report back with full details.... Sweet.Jesus.

Went out in Venice last night after being trapped in my apartment all day writing a paper. I needed it.

There's a Tightrope Between Me and You...

And what I don't know.... (Atlanta Housewives reruns).

Gym, shower, salad, homework, school.

Re-visited the LF sale yesterday AND popped into Kiehls for some moisturizer. My bank account hates me.

Also went to the Chinese Laundry outlet store and got Serena's gray suede thigh-high Turbo boots in my Polyvore collage below for $80. Can't wait for it to get colder!
